Paying Taxes To Caesar Or God
As Jesus spoke, the Pharisees came up to question
Him; they thought to implicate Him by what He
said. A strict Herodian spoke and said, “My Lord, you
are a man of truth; you show the way to God, and you do not regard the personality
of men. Tell us, what do you think; should we, who are the children of Abraham,
pay taxes unto Caesar? Or should we not?”
And Jesus knew His wickedness of heart and said, “Why do you come to tempt me
thus? Show me the money that you speak about.”
The man brought forth a piece of coin on which an image was engraved. And Jesus
said, “Whose image and whose name is on this coin?”
The man replied, “It is Cæsar's image and his name.”
And Jesus said, “Give unto Caesar that which is Caesar's own, and to God the
things of God.” And they who heard Him said, “He answers well.”
Explanations
1. Humanity
have to pay taxes for the general wellbeing and development of the human society.
The taxes must not be made unbearable burdens to people. The enforcement of
multiple taxes shall no be allowed, because it causes
financial burdens to individuals and organizations, and makes both small and nig businesses not to prosper.
2. As the
people pay taxes to their various governments and leaderships, even so shall
the governments and leaderships pay their tithes and first fruits to the temple
of God, because they are among the children of God, and because it is God
Almighty that sustains and prospers their works, earnings and savings. It is God that provided all the natural resources
which they are utilizing.
3.
Do
not bring unGodly things into the temple or church of God. The ill-gotten money
and wealth are not acceptable to God and His Covenant System Of
Worship. Do not bring such money and wealth into the temple or holy places of
God.
4.
Both
earthly and heavenly lifestyles are very important, but do not practice
devilish or demonic lifestyles.
5.
Every
person belongs to a particular world or plane of existence. Therefore, the
children of God should not join the kingdom of darkness, forces of darkness and
powers of darkness. Rather, they should join and remain in the Kingdom of
Heaven, by learning how to live in heaven and by emulating the Hosts of Angels
and Saints of Heaven, .
6.
God
Almighty is the Father of the children of God, and whom they should serve and
worship. The children of God must not serve and worship Satan or any of his
agents, by any form of idolatry.
7.
There
are many good things in this world, which are not from God, but were introduced
by Satan and kingdom of darkness, without humanity knowing it. For example, the
air conditioner is from the marine kingdom, while the breeze and wind are from
heaven. As Jesus questioned the Pharisees, Sadducees and Scribes, even so the
children of God should first determine the source of anything, to know whether
such a thing is acceptable to God or not.
8.
The
summary and conclusion is that the children of God should accept what God
accepts, and reject whatever that God rejects.
